Larry L. Hillblom Foundation

The Larry L. Hillblom Foundation ( LLHF) is funded through a bequest from Larry L. Hillblom, an international businessman and one of the three founders of DHL Worldwide Express.

Mr. Hillblom's will required most of the Foundation's funding be used to support medical research, particularly researchprograms conducted by the University of California. The LLHF priorities are in the area of diabetes mellitus and diseases associated with aging. To date, the Foundation has provided UCSF more than $19 million in funding for basic scientific and clinical research.

The Hillblom Foundation funds fellowship grants, start-up grants, and network grants at UCSF, as well as the Larry L. Hillblom Center for the Biology of Aging, an endowed chair in craniofacial anomalies, various diabetes programs, and the Saipan Residency Program. Occasionally, the Foundation makes gifts outside their priority areas in support of programs or events that further the Foundation's philanthropic mission.
