Intervention Planning Resources
FHOP has added an intervention planning resources section to the MCAH Resources section of its website. The information and materials here will assist local jurisdictions with addressing priority areas as identified in the Needs Assessment reports. This section is divided into tools that can be used in planning and evaluating potential interventions, including Problem Analysis Diagram and Logic Model templates, and a separate section organized by topic that contains examples of problem analyses, bibliographies, contact information for experts, web links, and resources information on best practices. Check back often, as this section will be updated on an ongoing basis. If you need assistance locating or using any of the resources posted here, please do not hesitate to contact FHOP.

Spotlight
AskCHIS
The California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) has updated and improved its AskCHIS site. You can now search for information by keyword or browse information categorically. Results can be viewed and compared by age, race, gender, or poverty level. The new inquiry system is a step by step process that is much easier to use and gives clearer results than the previous design. Information can be searched for by county, region, or all of California.
CHIS Data Available
As of February 7, AskCHIS will include data from 2003. For those topics surveyed by CHIS in both 2001 and 2003, users will be able to look at multiple years of data in one table. Users may also choose to combine both years of data into a single table, which provides more stable estimates for smaller populations, averaging out the differences between 2001 and 2003. CHIS has also revised the 2001 population “weights” according to the CA Department of Finance estimates. Because of this, AskCHIS can provide estimates at the county, region, and state levels for Chinese, Filipinos, Koreans, and Vietnamese, for both 2001 and 2003.
