Training

Analyzing Problems and Developing Interventions: In Fall 2004, FHOP will be hosting several one-day workshops for MCAH staff to (1) increase knowledge about specific MCAH health problems and effective interventions and (2) use this information, apply a systematic process, and begin to identify and develop possible effective interventions for their communities.  There will be guest speakers who are experts in the priority problem areas discussing current knowledge about the subject area and relevant “Best Practices.”  Trainings will also focus on applying the expert information to your local problem analysis.  FHOP strongly encourages your county to bring a team of 2-3 people, specifically, those working on action planning for the priority problems identified in your Title V Needs Assessment Report.  Register soon to reserve a seat!  See the Fall 2004 training schedule at: http://www.ucsf.edu/fhop/fhoptrain3.htm.

Spotlight

New Section with Resources for Action Plan Report!!  With the release of the Action Plan Guidelines, FHOP has added a new section to its website where resources can be found to aid in developing and writing the Action Plan Report - due June 30, 2005.  This section is divided into three parts:  (1) a link to the Guidelines for writing the Action Plan Report; (2) a section to provide access to tools and forms referred to in the Guidelines, an example of the use of these tools feeding logically into one another, and fitting into a completed Action Plan for one priority area; and (3) a section that contains various resources to assist you in further evaluating priority areas.  This section will be divided into topic areas, and each topic area may include sample problem analyses, bibliographies, expert contacts, links to relevant websites, and other resources.  Keep checking back to this section, as FHOP anticipates adding resources on an ongoing basis.  The Action Plan Resources section of the website can be accessed at: http://www.ucsf.edu/fhop/CA_mcah/actionPlan/index.htm.
