Drug metabolism and disposition

Many well-conceived drug candidates are "lost" during pre-clinical or Phase I clinical trials because their pharmacokinetic profiles are inadequate. My research is focused on developing in vitro-in vivo correlations in order to model the transport and metabolism of drugs. These models will be used to select drug candidates with clinically useable pharmacokinetic profiles and to predict potential drug interactions. Along with this model building, I am exploring the possibility of creating a web-based drug metabolism encyclopedia.
