Empact's See's Candies Sales The holidays look a bit sweeter for campus chocolate lovers and Empact! Presents than they did a month ago. The group's annual holiday sales of See's Candies are moving forward at UCSF locations. The South San Francisco-based candy company reached an agreement with striking workers in November. Empact had decided to forgo candy sales -- one of its biggest fundraisers -- if the labor dispute had not been settled. Last year, Empact sold more than 1,900 pounds of See's candies and netted $6,000 for campus community events. See's Candies are on sale at Millberry Union Central Desk, 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. On Dec. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21, Empact volunteers will staff candy stations at Millberry Union from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Candy is also being sold at Laurel Heights, Mission Center, Mount Zion, San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center and Executive Park. Dates and times for sales will be announced by Empact representatives at these locations. Links: |
