Chancellor's Award for the Advancement of Women

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2001 Chancellor's Award for the Advancement of Women.

Nominations must be returned to the Chancellor's Office, Box 0402, S 126 by 5 p.m. on Friday, December 22.

The award recognizes contributions to the advancement of women at UCSF. Each year three individuals--one faculty/academic, one staff, one student/resident/ postdoctoral scholar is selected to receive this award. Each recipient will receive $2,000.

Both women and men who meet one or more of the following criteria are eligible to be nominated:

  • elevating the status of women on campus;
  • helping to improve campus policies affecting women;
  • participating in and assisting in the establishment of career or academic mentoring for women;
  • contributing to the generation and dissemination of knowledge on women's health through research, teaching and public presentations; and/or
  • promoting and advancing the admission, recruitment, retention, and upward mobility of women at UCSF.

Faculty and staff should have received nomination forms in campus mail. The form is also available on the Chancellor’s Office website. Call 476-4223 if you would like to have a form faxed to you, or if you have any questions.
