Laboratory Medicine Interim Chair Appointed Valerie L. Ng, MD, PhD, has been appointed interim chair of the department of laboratory medicine, effective November 1. Ng, professor of laboratory medicine, succeeds Daniel Stites, MD. He is stepping down as chair to resume his role as professor of laboratory medicine. "I would like to express my appreciation to Dr. Stites for his years of service to the school as chair of the department, and to Dr. Ng for accepting this big responsibility," said Haile Debas, MD, Dean of the School of Medicine, who announced the new appointment.
