Walk for Diabetes, November 5

UCSF is organizing a team for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation's "Walk for the Cure" on Sunday, November 5, in Golden Gate Park, starting at 9 a.m.

Patients, families, physicians, nurses, social workers and diabetes researchers have already joined, but more UCSF participants are welcome.

The theme "Walk for the Cure," reflects the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation's core message: insulin helps to treat the disease, but with many side effects. Diabetics, clinicians and researchers alike are racing to find a cure.

For more information on how to join the UCSF team, contact Mary Sullivan, RN, at 502-5732 or Lisa Kroon, PharmD, at 476-5586. UCSF participants will meet at the Bandshell in Golden Gate Park at 8:30 a.m. for a team picture.

For more information about the San Francisco walk and how to pre-register, visit the website.

Walkers also may register between 8 and 9 a.m. on the day of the event.
