Campus Walkers Needed for Heart Association Fund-Raiser UCSF is seeking walkers for the American Heart Association's "Heart Walk," which begins at noon on Friday (Sept. 29) at Justin Herman Plaza in downtown San Francisco. A shuttle to transport the UCSF team will leave from the School of Dentistry Building at 707 Parnassus Ave. at 11 a.m. and will return to campus at 1:30 p.m. Walkers solicit sponsors to support cardiovascular research and educational programs, including programs at UCSF. Campus and medical center participants will receive a team T-shirt and enjoy food, beverages and entertainment after the walk. UCSF's goal is to recruit 50 walkers and win back "The Golden Shoe" award, issued to the organization or corporation that raises the most funds. In 1998, UCSF won the award. Last year, Stanford won it. For more information, contact team captains Joanna DeLong, assistant patient care manager in the UCSF Medical Center's intensive cardiac care unit (ICC) at 353-1708 (press 2), or Valerie Bosco, clinical nurse in the ICC , 353-1007 or email (Valerie.Bosco@ucsfmedctr.org), (vbosco89@aol.com).
