ACT Benefit Performance The Hospitals Auxiliary invites the campus community to a special benefit performance of "Hans Christian Anderson," Wednesday, Sept. 6. It is the A.C.T. season opener and world premier of a musical production about Denmark's great storyteller, at the Geary Theater, 415 Geary Street, San Francisco. The deadline to reserve a seat to this special performance is Monday, Aug. 21. The production, staged by director and choreographer Martha Clarke and written by Irish playwright Sebastian Barry, features a score composed by Frank Loesser for the 1952 film classic starring the late Danny Kaye. The performance takes theatergoers on a journey of childhood terrors and dreams as the boy escapes the horrors of poverty through storytelling. The cost to attend the event is $95 for a champagne buffet reception and show, which starts at 6 p.m., and $60 for the show only, which starts at 8 p.m. Proceeds from this event will benefit the auxiliary's annual patient wishes program. For tickets, call 353-1366 or email. |
