UC, CNA Reach Tentative Contract Agreement

The University of California and the California Nurses Association reached a tentative agreement yesterday (May 25) on a new two-year contract. The agreement includes systemwide bargaining issues as well as issues related to the dissolution of UCSF Stanford Health Care.

The contract includes wage increases to help UC stay competitive in California's nursing market, according to a UC statement. As part of the agreement, details of the contract will be withheld until the union membership reviews the tentative pact and votes on ratification.

CNA represents about 6,000 registered nurses at UC's five medical centers statewide, including 1,800 at the UCSF Medical Center.
