State of the School of Medicine Address and Awards Program Today

Dean Haile T. Debas will deliver his State of the School Address today (May 25), 3 to 4 p.m., in N 225.

Following the address, the School of Medicine will hold its fifth annual Honors and Awards Recognition Program and present the Holly Smith Award for Service.

The honors and awards program was inaugurated in 1996 to recognize the special accomplishments of the School’s faculty.

The following categories of faculty honors are recognized: election to membership or fellowship in scientific societies, including the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Academy of Sciences; appointment to a distinguished professorship or endowed chair; unique national, international or UCSF campus awards.

A reception will be held, 4:15 to 6 p.m., in the School of Nursing mezzanine.
