UCSF Foundation Elects New Members

The UCSF Foundation has elected Barbara Bass Bakar as its new chair, William Orberndorf as vice chair, and other community leaders to serve on the board of directors and as new members.

The UCSF Foundation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation established to advance the interests and promote the welfare of the University of California, San Francisco by raising funds to meet critical needs, sponsoring educational programs and involving friends and supporters in the work of the University.

In recent years, UCSF has grown increasingly dependent on the Foundation to cultivate private support since only 15 percent of the University's operating budget comes from state sources.
