Halloween Happenings

partyDozens of UCSF employees at various campus sites reveled in the Halloween spirit Friday, donning a variety of costumes ranging from long-haired, paisley-wearing hippies, ghoulish fiends and cutesy fairies.

At Laurel Heights, about 75 people turned out for the festivities, coordinated by Empact! Presents and sponsored by Health Net and the North American Mortgage Company.

Taking home Macy’s gift certificates as winners of the costume contest at Laurel Heights were Franco Monda of Benefits (first place), Collin Hinds (second place), who dared to dress as Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack Webster of the office of the vice chancellor, winnersadministration and finance (third place). At Parnassus, celebrators not only wore costumes -- they toured a Haunted House, had their fortunes told, and entered pie baking and eating contests. Pie contest winners were Dan Carnock, a plumber with campus physical plant/facilities management, and community member Sabrina Johnson.
