A national leader in the field of cancer research and care, Margaret A. Tempero, MD, has been successfully recruited as deputy director of the UCSF Cancer Center and chief of medical oncology in the UC San Francisco department of medicine.

Margaret TemperoFrank McCormick, director of the UCSF Cancer Center, and Lee Goldman, chair of the UCSF department of medicine, recently announced her appointment, which will be effective January 3.

She will provide strong leadership in clinical research and play a major role in developing the Cancer Center in the future," McCormick said. "This recruitment has been a top priority for the Cancer Center and the department of medicine, and we feel very fortunate to have a person of Margaret’s stature as a member of our team."
