Controller Appointed at UCSF

Cynthia Fenwick, CPA, MEd, has been appointed to the position of UCSF assistant vice chancellor-finance/controller. Steve Barclay, UCSF vice chancellor for administration and finance, announced the appointment, which will be effective September 20, 1999.

As UCSF's first campus controller, Fenwick will be responsible for management and oversight of financial operations, including accounting, purchasing, and materiels management. She will also be responsible for developing and managing policies and procedures to ensure control and oversight of the financial resources of the campus, which includes over one billion dollars in expenditures annually.

Fenwick, a certified public accountant, is currently the controller at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she has served since 1995. She has also held various managerial positions in accounting at Johns Hopkins University, University of Delaware and Harford Community College.
