PositiveHealth Open House

An open house to welcome new members of the PositiveHealth team and celebrate a closer collaboration between the world-renowned San Francisco General Hospital and Medical Center and UCSF programs for people with HIV will be held on Thursday, April 1, 4-7 p.m., 4th floor ACC, 400 Parnassus Avenue.

The event is open to the campus community and the public. It will be hosted by Amy Kindrick and Paul Volberding.

The PositiveHealth Practice at UCSF brings together the expertise of Parnassus and SFGHMC AIDS programs under the direction of Kindrick, and draws upon the expertise of Volberding, John Stansell and others. Volberding and his colleagues established the PositiveHealth program in 1983 as the UCSF AIDS Program at SFGHMC. PositiveHealth has been ranked as the top program in the country for AIDS care by US News and World Report for six consecutive years. This program can now be accessed at the UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus.

The practice offers:

  • Physicians dedicated to the care of people with HIV disease

  • Nationally recognized expertise

  • Access to investigational treatment through NIH-sponsored clinical trials

  • UCSF specialists with extensive experience treating AIDS-related conditions

  • Enrollment site for the California AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)
