Nominations for the 1999 Kaiser Awards Due Friday

Its time to recognize those special teachers who have inspired, motivated, and gone above and beyond to make UCSF medical education an excellent experience. The annual Kaiser Awards for Excellence in Teaching were established by an endowment from the Kaiser Foundation. This prestigious and highly coveted award is presented to three members of the UCSF faculty: one member of the volunteer clinical faculty, one full-time clinical faculty member and one basic science faculty member will be honored at the School of Medicine commencement in May. A fourth award is given to a faculty member from the Fresno Medical Education Program. Each winner is presented with a certificate and a cash award. Nominations are accepted from medical students and house staff only.

Students are encouraged to fill out a nomination form to recognize the enthusiasm and dedication of someone who made their medical education the experience they hoped it would be. All nominees receive written notification, so even if they don't win, they will know that their contribution to their students' education is appreciated.

Nomination forms are available in the Student Lounge, S 245 and several satellite locations. For more information on where nomination forms are available, email deklem@medsch.ucsf.edu or telephone Mary Dekle at 476-5169. Nominations close at 5 p.m., Friday March, 19.
