James Taylor to Replace Bocelli at "Raising Hope"

Andrea Bocelli, who was scheduled to perform at tonight’s "Raising Hope" benefit concert at Davies Symphony Hall, has canceled his West Coast debut because of a serious throat infection and strict instructions from his physician not to travel. Popular musician James Taylor will perform in his place, along with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra and soprano Ana Maria Martinez.

Surprise celebrity guests are also planned to perform at tonight’s event. "Raising Hope," a gala dinner and concert, is hosted by the UCSF Foundation to benefit the UCSF Cancer Center.

With deep regret at having to postpone his concert, Bocelli has promised the organizers that he will perform for "Raising Hope" patrons in San Francisco during his spring tour. Patrons at tonight’s gala will receive the best seats in the venue for  Bocelli’s spring concert.

For information on refunds and exchanges, call the "Raising Hope" hotline at 415/502-4337.
