Singing Its Praises

gospel singersUCSF's gospel choir sang to the masses last Saturday evening during its spring concert. Titled "Reign On Us," the lively concert featured animated performances not only by the choir but also by the audience, who stood, swayed and clapped along with the singers on stage.

Held at the Neighborhood Baptist Church on Hayes Street, the concert featured performances by the UCSF choir as well as gospel singers from outside the University, including the Peace Gospel Choir, Eugene Cole and Persuade. Jeffrey Williams directed the choir.

The gospel choir at UCSF was founded in 1993 as part of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Cultural Festival. Its members come from UCSF staff and students as well as the neighboring community.
