and Artists' Reception A special benefit "Idea House '98
Tour" will take place on Thursday, March 12, from
3:30 to 4:30 p.m., meeting at the San Francisco Design
Center Galleria Building lobby at 101 Henry Adams St.
Sponsored by the UCSF Hospitals Auxiliary of
UCSF Stanford Health Care, this tour will feature three
Bay Area homes, including one with a high-tech home
theatre. This year's tour will include well-known homes
such as Napa Valley Lane, Silicon Valley Drive and
Berkeley Hills Road. "Idea House" is designed
to spark one's imagination and showcase fine furnishings,
fabrics, lighting, and art.
The tour will be followed
by a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception for international
artists Aris Lee and Alexander Usvitsky from 5 to 8 p.m.
at the Kai-Yee Woo & Associates Gallery showroom and
Design Studio at the San Francisco Design Center,
Showplace Building, 2 Henry Adams St., Suite 322.
Lee, an abstract artist
from Hong Kong, expresses the nature of human beings and
the human body in his sculptures. His art has been
exhibited at major museums in Japan, Taiwan, China, Hong
Kong and Germany. Lee is the recipient of numerous
international awards, including Sculptor of the Year
Award in Hong Kong.
Usvitsky, a professional
architect and abstract artist, is known for the unique
painting technique he developed while living in the
former USSR. His paintings exhibit surreal landscapes and
haunting architectural structures.

provides stuffed animals, videos, and educational games
for children who are hospitalized, pagers for parents who
have children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and
artwork for patient rooms. The Auxiliary is a nonprofit
organization whose mission is to support patient care by
