Debas Joins Orchestra for Child Care Benefit

Chancellor Haile T. Debas will be the special guest narrator when the UCSF Orchestra performs Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the Millberry Gym.

cello The special children’s concert will raise funds for the UCSF Child Care Center. Tickets, which may be purchased at the door, cost $10 for UCSF family members and $15 general.

The 60-member UCSF Orchestra, founded in 1989, is made up of accomplished student, faculty, staff and community musicians, who rehearse weekly and perform several concerts a year. On Tuesday it performed Aaron Copland's Old American Songs, featuring mezzo soprano Erin Neff, Brahms Symphony No. 3, and Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain. The orchestra will perform the Copland pieces at tomorrow’s concert as well. For more information call 476-6932.
