Mission Bay Designs on View at AIA, MedSci and Online

The five design proposals for the UCSF campus at Mission Bay went on display Monday at the San Francisco chapter of the American Association of Architects. The exhibit on the sixth floor of the AIA building at 130 Sutter St. will be in place through Oct. 30. Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., there will be a public comment workshop in the display area as well.

UCSF Public Affairs has created a display in the lobby of the Medical Sciences building on Parnassus that includes renderings of the architectural models, as well as a companion display on science at UCSF. A sample of the models and renderings is available on Daybreak -- each design firm has its own page that includes two photos -- one of an architectural model and one of a drawing.

The UCSF community is invited to comment on the plans. An online form, which is viewable with Adobe Acrobat Reader, is available to print out, fill out and send to Public Affairs. The photos of the designs are best viewed on a monitor with “millions of colors.” Please check back next week for additional photos of the designs.
