Schools of Dentistry and Pharmacy Honor Graduating Students

The dental and pharmacy schools recognized their top graduating students for their academic achievements, community work and leadership at commencement ceremonies on Saturday.

The following received major awards from the School of Dentistry:

  • Gregory Adams, dental student, and Nora Lee, dental hygiene graduate, winners of the Elizabeth Fuhriman Gardner Awards for scholastic achievement, service to the community, leadership qualities, and demonstrated concern for others.
  • Peter Thai, the Francis A. Sooy Cup for academic and clinical excellence and qualities representing the profession.
  • Nguyen Nguyen, a member of the School’s class of 1955, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award.

School of Pharmacy major award winners were:

  • David Barbour, the Bowl of Hygeia, the highest award to a graduating student.
  • Teresa Barclay, Larissa Graff and Winnie Wong, the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence.
