The Asian Pacific American Systemwide Alliance (APASA)
was founded in 1981 by staff and students who wanted to
form an Asian Pacific American network for the UC system.
At this campus, where nearly one-third of students and
more than one-fourth of staff are Asian, members have
been active with APASA since 1988. Among the group's
goals are promoting affirmative action and the rich and
diverse cutural heritage of Asian Pacific people, and
strengthening professional and social relationships
within the community.1st appeared 5/12/97
