About Us Tracy Weitz Tracy Weitz, MPA, is the Associate Director for Public Policy and Community Development at the UCSF CoE. A member of the founding team for the UCSF CoE in 1996, Ms. Weitz has helped to articulate and refine the integrated CoE model. Her current work focuses on mapping the womens health ecosystem to facilitate in the development and implementation of evidence-based public policy in womens health. Ms. Weitz is also the Director for the Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH) program of the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health Research & Policy. She is a faculty member of the International Family Planning Leadership Development Program (IFPLP) specifically supporting work in the Philippines, Nigeria, and Sudan. Committed to understanding the interaction of culture, healthcare, and health outcomes, Ms. Weitz recently completed an analysis of teen pregnancy in Californias diverse Asian and Pacific Islander subpopulations. Ms. Weitz holds a masters degree in public administration with a health care emphasis, and is currently a doctoral student in medical sociology at UCSF. Her dissertation work examines the diffusion of medication abortion into mainstream health care. She is a former board member of the National Womens History Project and the California Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (CARAL). In 1999 she received the UCSF Chancellors Award for the Advancement of Women and in 2001 was named a Tish Sommers scholar.
