About Us

Katherine Tick

Katherine Tick is the Development Director of the UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. Katherine is a bright and energetic leader who brings an artistic and community focused vision to her work, which she views as having three essential components: philanthropy- the art of giving money away; development- uncovering shared values; and fundraising- acting on shared values. She is responsible for the entire gamut of fundraising that goes on at the CoE including major gifts, endowments and named gifts, and program-specific funds. In addition, she works closely with many of the physicians to help them achieve the fundraising goals for their research projects and clinical work.

Katherine comes to the CoE with almost 20 years of experience in non-profit management. She has written many successful grant proposals, created and implemented new programs for diverse constituents, been a part of strategic planning and marketing teams, and developed expertise in volunteer training and management.

Katherine has a degree in modern European history from UC Berkeley, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She is delighted to be a part of the UCSF team and honored to be working at the CoE.
