About Us Nancy Milliken
Nancy Milliken is a women's health advocate, a clinician, and an administrator. As director of the UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women's Health, Milliken is developing programs to advance women's health across the lifespan. For her efforts, Milliken received the Chancellor's Award for the Advancement of Women in 2002. She has initiated widespread improvements in leadership development for women, research and academic programs, community education and comprehensive clinical care. Milliken initiated a mentor program at UCSF to encourage young women to enter the field of women's health and founded the annual Young Women's Health Conference. Milliken earned a BA from Harvard University, studied two years of pre-medicine at Stanford University and then received an MD from Duke Medical School in 1981. She served her residency in OB/GYN at Pennsylvania Hospital and was awarded a two-year research fellowship in medical ethics at UCSF.
