About Us Christina Bernard Christina Bernard focuses on communications for the UCSF National Center of Excellence (CoE) where she oversees development of the Center's communications and marketing plan. She interfaces with CoE leadership and community advocates to develop strategies that are aligned with the overall mission and goals. She is responsible for the visual brand identity and message platform of the Center, with a focus on appealing to key target audiences. She is also actively involved with UCSF Marketing department as it relates to the design and production of marketing materials across all of the Center's programs. Christina serves as a Community Liaison by building and maintaining relationships with friends and supporters, community individuals and CBOs, faculty and staff, and institutional leadership groups. With an interest in health disparities and supporting underserved communities, Christina has worked on UCSF institutional efforts to increase and promote diversity by helping with the School of Medicine's Taskforce on Underrepresented Minorities. Christina also serves as a Community Advocate, primarily for the Bayview Hunters Point community of San Francisco. She is an active member of the BMagic collaborative (Bayview Mobilization for Adolescent Growth in Community) initiated by Public Defender Jeff Adachi, and volunteers time with the Hunters Point Family Agency on the development of thir annual reports. Christina Bernard has a B.A. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Boston University and is certified as a San Francisco HIV risk assessment and testing disclosure counselor. She believes that content should drive design with genuine messages to convey what is unique and compelling. She is a dancer who performs regularly a member of the CCSF Hip Hop Crew with Strong Current dance Company of San Francisco, enjoys photography and graphic arts and is an excellent vegetarian/vegan cook. With a strong interest in women's rights across the lifespan, she brings both artistry and advocacy to her work.
