2006 Leadership Conference
From February 14 – 16, 2006, over 100 representatives of nationwide community organizations and the 23 CoEs attended the second National Convening for the “Fostering Excellence in Women’s Health through Academic-Community Partnerships” program.
The goals of the convening were:
- To maximize the partnerships’ ability to address the health of women and girls in diverse communities
- To explore the multidimensional dynamics of cross-cultural partnerships and to learn skills that contribute to developing sustainable partnerships and funding
- To design partnership-specific proposals that may be fundable through the “Fostering Excellence in Women’s Health through Academic-Community Partnerships” program or other sources
The convening gave representatives a chance to build upon and share skills through various workshops, panel presentations, and group discussion. The partnerships also had time to work on their individual proposals with direct support and guidance from experts as well as their peers in this national CoE-CBO network.
