UCSF Office of Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity/Diversity
UC's non-discrimination policy forbids discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender. At UCSF, the Office of AA/EO/D carries out this policy by processing internal complaints of discrimination and facilitating campus response to external complaints. Its website notes: "Any employee, applicant for employment, student, applicant for admission, campus visitor, union, patient, organization, contractor, vendor, or bidder can utilize our services in addressing any problems related to discrimination. A confidential setting is provided to explore questions or concerns. . . . Many issues are resolved informally through consultation."

UC Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex Association (UCLGBTIA)
This systemwide group is open to all UC-affiliated students, staff, and faculty, and has branches on each campus and at the labs. It does advocacy (it was instrumental in securing domestic partner benefits, and is now focusing on adding "gender identity" to UC's non-discrimination policy), and it holds a three-day assembly each year, alternating between northern and southern campuses. Its website offers detailed information about domestic partner benefits, plus links to each UC campus's LGBT resource office/center.
