The Neurological Fitness Unit has moved!

It is now part of the Physical Therapy Department at our Mission Bay campus.

For an appointment and directions, please contact:

PT Health and Wellness Program

This program is designed for people with neurological problems whose goal is to maximize daily function.  Individuals with diagnoses such as stroke or spinal cord injury often face a double dose of challenges.  On the one hand they are managing neurological disabilities that interfere with their activities of daily living, while these same problems limit their ability to do healthy exercise.  Research has shown that physical performance and quality of life can be improved by carefully planned and professionally directed neurological and fitness training. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find a training program with the equipment and professionals that understand the special needs of the neurological client.  The Neurological Fitness Unit now offers the opportunity for most individuals with neurological problems to join the movement to better health and fitness by strengthening underused muscles, improving aerobic conditioning and training the nervous system to function at its best possible level.

The Neurological Fitness Unit is not a medical treatment program. Rather, it is customized physical fitness for people who are motivated to achieve their “personal best.”

The Neurological Fitness Unit is open for training, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m..   Training with an experienced personal trainer is offered in one-hour sessions and home visits can be arranged.  There is no membership fee; payments are based on workout time and goals.   We cannot accept credit cards for payment at this time.

We hope you can make the Neurological Fitness Unit your choice for physical fitness!
