Kristen Bole, manager of biotech news at UCSF, covers the School of Pharmacy, genetics, translational medicine and industry alliances. An award-winning business reporter and editor, she joined UCSF in 2007 after nearly 20 years of experience in business journalism, executive staffing and public relations in health and science. Bole’s career has taken her around the world, ranging from the Peace Corps in the Central African Republic to her master’s research in Central American rain forests, to a stint helping start up a business newspaper in Bangkok. Bole holds degrees from Cornell University (BA, English) and Columbia University (MS, Journalism).
