Deputy Director, Public Affairs
Karin Rush-Monroe, deputy director of public affairs, serves as senior strategic communications counsel for UCSF’s clinical initiatives, the UCSF health system and executive leadership. She specializes in issues such as the health care delivery marketplace, and is lead for major clinical initiatives such as the 2015 opening of UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay. With more than 30 years of communications experience, she previously directed internal and external communications for Aetna’s national clinical programs and its chief medical officer, and led communications and special events for non-profit organizations including the American Cancer Society. Rush-Monroe holds a degree from Temple University (BS, Journalism).
