When you share the gifts of your time and talent with the School of
Medicine, you play an important role; helping to inform the dean's
decisions, advocating on behalf of UCSF, and working to make your class
reunion campaign a success. Volunteer opportunities include:
Hugh H. Toland Society
The Hugh H. Toland Society recognizes individuals who make
investments of $10,000 or more, payable over up to five years, to the
School of Medicine Annual Fund or any program that directly supports
medical students or medical education.
Members of the Toland Society Advisory Committee—a high-level
volunteer board—consult the dean on matters related to students and
education and actively seek gifts to support related fundraising
priorities.
For more information on the Hugh H. Toland Society and the
Toland Society Advisory Committee, please contact Lyn Oswald at 415/502-8377 or loswald@support.ucsf.edu.
Join us for UC Day!
UC Day is the one time of the year when all UC alumni associations collectively come together with their alumni, donors and friends to carry their voice to Sacramento and discuss with their elected representatives issues of concern to the University. It's also the only time when the UC systemwide family comes together in one room to acknowledge UC's academic excellence and its contribution to the state.
Since no other group within the University - community faculty, administrators, or students - can be as effective as alumni and friends in reaching public officials and promoting the needs of UC, we hope you'll join us in March.
For more specific information go to: ucday.org or contact Nancy Newman at nnewman@support.ucsf.edu.
UCSF Advocacy Network
Become involved in political advocacy on behalf of the University by joining the UCSF Advocacy Network. Typical activities include lobbying on issues affecting the University and encouraging other alumni to join the effort.
You may sign up to be an advocate for UC at ucforcalifornia.org.
This website will also allow you to type in your zip code and in a few keystrokes send a letter on UC's behalf to the Governor and your state representatives. It only takes a minute—and your voice is needed.
To learn more, contact Alumni Coordinator Nancy Newman at nnewman@support.ucsf.edu.
Reunion Campaign Program
If you're celebrating your class reunion at the next Homecoming
weekend, consider volunteering on your Reunion Campaign Committee.
Volunteers take on any number of roles, such as planning their class
reunion's events, signing fundraising letters or calling classmates to
encourage them to participate in the campaign.
For general information about the Reunion Campaign Program, please contact
Gina Martinez at 415/476-1471 or gmartinez@support.ucsf.edu.
