Laurel Heights Campus

Laurel Heights, once part of the historic Laurel Hill Cemetery, is a 465,000-square-foot building that sits on nearly 11 acres of land

Laurel Heights houses various academic units, administrative groups, and facilities including:

  • Community and Government Relations Works with UCSF’s neighbors to develop creative, mutually-beneficial solutions that address the inherently complex relationship between our campus and our city.
  • Human Resources Attracts a diverse workforce to UCSF, and also helps employees stay motivated and develop their careers within a supportive work environment.
  • The Center for Health and Community A leading-edge center in which scientists, clinicians, and policy analysts from various UCSF schools—epidemiology, health policy, anthropology, psychology, sociology, history, bioethics, economics, and clinical research—collaborate on comprehensive approaches to health problems.
  • The UCSF Medical Effectiveness Research Center for Diverse Populations A research center that promotes better health and disease prevention in racially and ethnically diverse populations.
  • University Child Care Center at Laurel Heights A friendly, inviting child care center that is available to faculty and staff of UCSF and the University of San Francisco, as well as to members of the surrounding community.

654 Minnesota Street

Close to the Mission Bay Campus, this three story building in the Dogpatch neighborhood was first occupied by UCSF in 2008.  It houses various campus administration units such as Campus Planning, Capital Programs, Facilities Planning, Real Estate Services, and Information Technology Services.  The building is 65,525 gross square feet and currently has 120 occupants.

Mission Center Building

This six story converted warehouse is used by the School of Medicine, UCSF Police, and various campus administration units such as Accounting, Documents, Media & Mail, for offices and laboratories. Some Medical Center units such as Hospital Accounting and Clinical Enterprise Systems occupy space in the building. The building has a total of nearly 800 occupants.

Buchanan Dental Center

The Buchanan Dental Center at 100 Buchanan Street near Market is a centrally located clinic of the UCSF School of Dentistry.  The School of Dentistry’s Clinics at Parnassus Heights and Buchanan Clinic are the largest providers of dental care to MediCal and economically disadvantaged patients in the Bay Area. Many of those patients are treated at the two-story Buchanan Clinic by UCSF’s faculty members and students.

A wide range of comprehensive services include:  examinations, teeth cleaning, periodontal therapy, root canals, dental fillings, cosmetic procedures, bleaching, crowns, dental implants, extractions, dentures, bridges and treatment of dental emergencies.

UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program

A clinical branch of the UCSF School of Medicine, the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program was created to address the severe shortage of physicians practicing in the San Joaquin Valley.
