Located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, San Francisco VA Medical Center is a major teaching hospital for UCSF and a nationally recognized treatment center for such specialties as urology, hematology/oncology, HIV, epilepsy, post-traumatic stress disorder, drug abuse, interventional radiology and Parkinson's disease. With more than 350,000 outpatient visits per year, 124 acute care beds, a core of Art Deco buildings and a flourishing medical research enterprise, the SFVAMC is a key cog in Northern California's health care network.
